As a Mechanical Supervisor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll supervise complex aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring precision and compliance while working on critical components that keep our fleet mission‑ready. Day-to-day, you'll have the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities
* Maintain task authorisation for aircraft/component work per AMC requirements, including fault evaluation and raising work cards.
* Ensure delivery targets are met through team supervision and progress reporting.
* Support compliance with MOE and FMPs (e.g., oversight checks, tooling/test equipment control).
* Provide leadership and guidance, conduct PDRs, sponsor training, and deliver on‑the‑job development.
* Communicate effectively to share complex information and manage people.
This role is full time working 36 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Valley, Anglesey.
Qualifications
* Proven leadership experience at a senior level.
* Fully competent technician with all required authorities in place.
* Comprehensive logbook demonstrating current skills, knowledge, and aircraft/bay experience.
* Strong trade principles knowledge with practical expertise in aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
* Completed an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or a military equivalent.
* Minimum qualification: City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, or an equivalent certification.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
