OSG Job Responsibilities
* Play a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and well‑being of staff, visitors, and prisoners.
* Manage entry and exit procedures for staff, visitors, contractors, and vehicles.
* Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, fostering a welcoming and safe environment.
* Put visitors at ease and answer questions about prison life.
* Support visitors and understand the emotional impact for families and friends of prisoners.
* Conduct regular patrols to maintain external security.
* Perform searches and confiscate forbidden items in line with policies.
* Escort visitors and prisoners to ensure safety and security.
* Handle mail and maintain logs to report contraband items.
* Supervise prisoner activities, including clothing and property exchanges.
* Operate the establishment’s radio system and monitor CCTV.
* Monitor the prisoners’ PIN Phone system and maintain logs.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and seek advice when needed.
* Perform administrative tasks to ensure accurate data maintenance.
Person Specification – Requirements
