Job Description:
Are you a NEBOSH level 6 qualified Health and Safety practitioner? Are you looking for a varied role within a theatre environment? Do you promote and inspire a positive health and safety culture? Do you have experience of delivering health and safety training courses?
In this crucial role, as the Senior Health and Safety Advisor, you will support the Head of Occupational Safety and Health in all matters, ensuring legal compliance and a positive and proactive approach to health and safety across the RSC.
The Senior Health and Safety Advisor plays a pivotal role in supporting on productions and at events, offering you the opportunity to be hands-on in an interesting and varied environment.
Reporting to the Head of Occupational Safety and Health, key responsibilities include (please see the full job description and person specification for details):
* Support the Head of Occupational Safety and Health in all health and safety management issues across the RSC.
* Promote continuous improvement aligned with ISO 45001 standards, including audits, workplace inspections, investigations, and monitoring activities.
* Lead on developing improved incident data analysis and reporting using real-time dashboards.
* Deputise for the Head of OSH when required.
* Provide advice, training, and support on topics such as CDM, machinery safety, LOLER, risk assessment, manual handling, and working at height.
Essential knowledge and experience include:
* Experience in theatre, events, or related fields.
* In-depth knowledge of UK safety regulations like CDM, PUWER, RIDDOR, Working at Height.
* Chartered member of IOSH or working towards it.
* Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
* Expertise in contractor safety, construction management (CDM), and safety training delivery.
This role requires deputising for the Head of Occupational Health and Safety, including providing cover as a specialist responder to the Major Incident Plan outside usual working hours, with time off in lieu for hours worked.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Stratford-upon-Avon, with occasional remote work. The hours are 35 per week, with flexible timings, and occasional travel to London may be required.
