Location Woodchester, Gloucestershire
Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience.
We are looking for a motivated individual to support our Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) function, helping to ensure that our suppliers consistently deliver high‑quality products and processes that meet Renishaw’s standards and contribute to our operational excellence.
Responsibilities
1. Work with multiple manufacturing functions to capture purchased item quality problem statements
2. Partner with, and visit, external suppliers to support the development and management of new and existing suppliers
3. Collaborate with Design teams to understand critical features, tolerances, and performance requirements
4. Work with Purchasing to identify, assess, and develop new suppliers in line with commodity strategies
5. Support Purchasing in mitigating future production supply risks
6. Work closely with Goods‑In Inspection to ensure effective management and inspection of incoming goods
7. Generate clear, structured reports presenting inspection outcomes or quality investigation findings
8. Identify opportunities for improved process control and/or design‑for‑manufacture (DFM) cost‑down initiatives
9. Take ownership of departmental metrics and work to agreed targets
10. Conduct and document supplier visits and assessments
11. Proactively develop personal technical skills and knowledge to support evolving role requirements
12. Own, coordinate, and deliver defined strategic or profile project
Key requirements
13. Degree level qualifications in an engineering/manufacturing discipline
14. Professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with stakeholders
15. Driven, self-motivated and willing to learn and contribute
Desirable requirements
16. Knowledge of engineering and inspection techniques and equipment
17. Awareness of quality systems e.g. ISO9001
Person specification
You will need sound problem solving mindset and a logical approach to varied technical challenges. You will need to be self-motivated and able to learn quickly, work independently and deliver with limited local support; as well as maintain a professional behaviour to interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Visiting suppliers is a key requirement so the individual must be prepared for some travel – UK and abroad.
