Responsibilities
As a Retail Security Officer, you will provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports, and collaborate with local authorities.
* Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity
* Assess and identify vulnerabilities, and work proactively to minimise risk
* Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable
* Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress
* Complete colleague and contractor searches when required in line with customer company policy
* Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for daily activity planning
* Provide detailed and legible incident reporting to assist the client and local authorities
Requirements
* Valid SIA licence required. Current SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence.
* Previous retail security experience an advantage; full training will be provided.
* Full 5‑year checkable work or back‑to‑school history.
* Right to work documents and a recent proof of address required for interview.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, welcoming and patient with customers, and ability to handle conflict professionally.
