Island Harbour Marina is looking for a skilled and motivated Certified Marina Manager (CMM) to oversee daily marina operations and lead on finance, HR, and compliance. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong organisational and people skills with hands-on experience in the marine or hospitality sector.
You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, ensuring safety and compliance, managing finances and staff, and keeping the marina running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily marina operations, ensuring safety and compliance with H&S and company standards.
* Manage marina finances, including reconciliations, budgeting, and payroll.
* Handle HR responsibilities: staff scheduling, performance management, and training.
* Oversee berthing allocations of vessels and supervise the locking of boats in/out of the lock.
* Ensure all customer enquiries are dealt with promptly and professionally.
* Manage security of the site and coordinate maintenance needs.
* Assist with marketing and promotion of the marina and its services.
* Prepare and present reports to senior management.
Essential Requirements
* Proven management experience in a marina, leisure, hospitality, or related industry.
* Strong financial management skills (budgets, reconciliations, salaries, reporting).
* HR management experience (staffing, scheduling, HR compliance).
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Computer literate, with confidence using Microsoft Office and HR/finance systems.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
* Flexible, positive "can-do" attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Valid driving licence.
Desirable Requirements
* Certified Marina Manager (CMM) or Certified Marina Operator (CMO) qualification.
* VHF Licence.
* Certification in First Aid, CPR, and marine safety procedures.
* Knowledge of environmental and emergency response protocols.
* Previous boatyard or marina operational experience.
* Understanding of maritime law, navigation systems, or basic boat mechanics.
* Degree/Diploma in Maritime Studies, Business Management, Hospitality, or Marine Engineering.
