Board Trustee
Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Daylight Centre Fellowship is a local charity at the heart of Wellingborough. We support people who are facing homelessness, poverty or social isolation, offering practical help such as advice, food, clothing and a welcoming place to connect with others. Our aim is simple by making sure no one in our community is left without support when they need it most.
We are seeking to recruit a Trustee to join our Board.
The role of Trustee
Our Trustees help guide and support the charity behind the scenes, ensuring the charity is well-managed, financially secure and focused on making the biggest difference possible.
Being a Trustee means:
* Helping to shape the charity’s direction and future.
* Supporting and encouraging our staff and volunteers.
* Making sure we use our resources wisely and responsibly.
* Being an advocate for the Daylight Centre Fellowship in the community.
Who can be a Trustee?
You don’t need to be an expert or have been a Trustee before although it may be helpful if you have. What matters most is your commitment to helping people and your willingness to give your time and ideas.
That said, skills in areas like finance, fundraising, housing, health and social care are always very welcome. A mix of different experiences and perspectives makes our Board stronger.
What’s the commitment?
We ask Trustees to:
* Attend regular Board meetings - usually every 2–3 months.
* Join in with discussions, decisions, and sometimes smaller working groups.
* Support by attending occasional events or helping to spread the word about our work.
* Continue to develop your skills as a Trustee.
Why become a Trustee?
Being a Trustee is a rewarding way to give back to your community.
As a Trustee you will:
* Play a part in tackling homelessness and hardship locally.
* Gain experience in leadership, strategy, and teamwork.
* Meet and work alongside passionate, committed people.
* Know that your time and energy are making a real difference.
