Collaborating with cross-functional teams, we drive efficiencies and industry-leading practices.
Our Stampings GME team oversees the forming process for stamped parts in JLR vehicles, from tooling to launch. As a Part Quality & Measurement Planning Engineer, you will handle the quality and measurement aspects of sheet metal components, supporting launches and projects.
Your responsibilities include designing quality standards, data packages, and measurement tools for suppliers and manufacturing, while maintaining strong engineering and operations links to improve processes and uphold JLR’s values.
WHAT TO EXPECT
* Deliver part quality and measurement systems across stamping operations and suppliers
* Lead procurement and approval of checking fixtures from external suppliers
* Drive MSA and R&R activities internally and externally
* Assess GD&T and define measurement strategies
* Facilitate validation events during launch
* Develop metrology standards and processes
* Support off-cycle quality improvement projects
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
* Deep technical expertise in stamped part quality
* Strong GD&T knowledge and experience with measurement points
* Background in CMM or GOM programming and analysis
* Experience in fixture procurement and buy-off
* Skilled in Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
* Understanding of cosmetic defects and sheet metal formability
* Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6
* Full UK driving license and willingness to travel within West Midlands
