Transport Manager Location: Dover Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum DOE Hours : Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm plus cover in the evenings and weekends as required to run the department About We are a long established transport company based in Dover. We have carried general cargo on the international market for many years. Whilst we still carry some general cargo we are now focusing our attention on Aerospace. This is an extremely demanding transport sector which can span across several transport modes and continents. We may be attending an AOG (Aircraft On Ground) situation which will be closely monitored by the client and destination. This has opened up an exciting opportunity for an experienced hands-on leader who can manage and drive forward a busy traffic department. You will be able to ensure compliance alongside efficiency. The Role: As Transport Manager, you will oversee day-to-day transport operations, manage drivers and staff, and ensure vehicles and routes run efficiently. You will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with transport regulations and delivering high levels of customer service. Ensuring invoicing and paperwork tasks are kept up to date. Key Responsibilities: Manage and motivate a team of drivers. Manage the day to day planning of the fleet alongside a traffic assistant. Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, including CPC requirements and O Licence regulations. Liaise with customers, suppliers, to maintain smooth operations. Invoice – sales and purchase are kept up-to date Book ferries when needed on ad-hoc routes Problem solving by being adaptable and pre-emptive Develop the department alongside the MD What We Are Looking For: Proven experience as a Transport Manager or similar role. CPC qualification is essential. Previous experience of internation transport movements with a general understanding of Customs and border crossing requirements. Previous experience managing operations under an international O Licence is required. Strong leadership and organisational skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Experience in route planning, fleet management, and transport compliance. Able to perform under pressure. What's On Offer Competitive salary: £50,000 £60,000.
