Senior Mental Health Nurse - Rivers CMHT

What if you could work with an amazing team like ours? Would you find it rewarding to work with and support people with severe and enduring mental illness work towards their recovery? It takes a special person to work in a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). Is that person you?

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced and innovative Senior Mental Health Nurse to run our Nurse-Led Clinic. Rivers CMHT is a close, lively, dynamic, nurturing, and supportive team with excellent peer support and regular supervision. You will manage a nurse-led clinic where service users are seen every 4-6 weeks. You will monitor mental state, carry out risk assessments, care plans (Dialogue +) and deliver interventions such as emotional coping skills and support service users towards recovery. Previous experience of working in a CMHT is desirable. You will also signpost to other agencies according to the individual's needs.

Rivers CMHT provides compassionate, kind and recovery-focused care to our patients, carers and their families. You will need to be able to work autonomously and use your own initiative. The successful candidates will have sound clinical skills, administration and IT skills, including be able to type. You will also need to be flexible and have excellent assessment and communication skills. You may need to work alongside other agencies to promote holistic recovery-focused care.


Main duties of the job

Rivers CMHT have regular weekly training slots which are psychologically informed so that our interventions are meaningful. We have our own unique, internal Academy of Excellence supporting registered staff throughout their careers to realise their aspirations as well as links to local universities to support further education and development.

We support staff in clinical practice in many ways including a team of Practice Educators to support and guide staff as they work alongside them. We are increasingly looking to enable staff to move seamlessly into roles that best meet their needs at that time, both within the service and across the division and within the local healthcare system. We are one of only a few NHS Trusts in the country to offer fully funded leadership and management qualifications to staff.
