Description

SBV seeks Quality Assurance Manager who will be responsible for executing the strategic direction during the development, deployment, maintenance and monitoring of Quality Assurance; technologies, processes, policies and program enhancements in accordance with best practice and international standards. The QA Manager will also have impeccable communication skills backed by strategic thinking and a strong sense of ownership to assure that quality is sustained from the beginning to end of any engagement assigned.

Technology Strategy & Innovation

1. Assist in defining and drives the execution of the Quality Assurance Strategy.
2. Setup and define the Quality regulations for products, services, processes and people orientated solutions within SBV.
3. Application of creative and analytical methods to design and enforce quality controls in order to maintain both SBV and internationally aligned standards.
4. Enablement of cross-functional Quality Assurance teams across various SBV departments by the use of “crowd sourcing”.
5. Driving a culture of zero-defect targets in the SBV Eco-system.
6. Commercial mindset, using finance management skills to drive the onboarding of new services and areas into the quality assurance team.

Analysis & Planning

1. Conduct quarterly reviews of the test cases to assure relevance to process and industry standard.
2. Continuously communicate with stakeholders to review the post deployment results of tests conducted.
3. Review results and tweak test cases to better align.
4. Automate mundane activities.
5. Use of excellent reporting and verbal skills to regularly engage and cultivate relationships with all stakeholders.
6. Managing and controlling budgets for the Quality Department.
7. Drive a collaborative approach with vendors and resolver groups to assure timeous feedback and delivery against promised outputs and SLA’s.

Design

1. Set the quality standards, control frameworks and scope of the test.
2. Define the technical test cases & output tolerances required to achieve the desired outcomes.
3. Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.
4. Apply the resourcing model & time estimates required to complete the end-to-end testing requirement.
5. Ability to define the reporting content for the correct audience combined with the ability to scale the presentation of these reports to the appropriate audience.

Implementation & Execution

1. Functional (Black Box) testing: Deliver 100% front end Test scenario coverage and defect evaluation of solution/product within a defined timeframe.
2. Non-Functional (White Box) testing: Using knowledge of the inner workings of the solution to expand on test cases and test for known outcomes.
3. Further apply this knowledge to also test for negative expected outcomes thus assuring complete end to end functionality of the product solution per its design.
4. Deliver Security, availability, and performance testing management in accordance to the standards defined.
5. Policy and Standards review (Technology Policies): All Technology policies to be reviewed and annual reviews done.
6. Testing Automation: Deliver against plan for automated testing, regression testing and load testing where applicable.
7. Communicates quality standards and parameters to QA team, product development team, and other business partners.

Risk & Quality Management

1. Preparation and execution of audits (Internal and external).
2. Updating, implementing, and improving Standard Operating Procedures relating to all quality assurance processes and reviewing company policies and procedures for compliance.
3. Perform annual Quality Management Reviews.
4. Carry out quality risk assessments and assist with compiling a risk management plan within the Quality team.
5. Security Testing: Work with the Head of Information Security Officer (ISO) to establish a program that is including but not limited to Penetration Testing, Static Code reviews and Policy adherence controls.

People Management

1. Establish, embed, and maintain Quality Assurance standards, including continuous improvement of working processes, effective use of organization-wide approaches to goal setting, personal development planning, and motivation for a high performing team.
2. Manage team attendance, shift rotations, time planning & overtime through clear forecasting schedules.
3. Engaging and influencing senior colleagues to make changes/improvements based on the reporting the team is responsible for producing.
4. Passion for questioning data/analysis so that the team is not only delivering quality, actionable output but also developing their storytelling skills.
5. Continuously exploring ways of improving the team's toolkit and output and a proactive mindset.
6. Create an environment conducive to cross-functional skills transfer.
7. Creates a conducive environment which translates into productivity and high morale within SBV delivering on key performance areas.
8. Lead and manage the Talent Management Process within one’s department.
9. Lead and manage the end-to-end performance management process of employees.
10. Adhere to legislative requirements, company policies and procedures in respect of employment Health and safety practices.
11. Manage overtime / illegal overtime of one’s department through proper planning and staff rotation inclusive of driving the time and attendance system within one’s department.
12. Draft and execute training plans in conjunction with the Training Academy.
13. Create and implement strategies in collaboration with Change Management & HR to evaluate and maintain employee satisfaction.
14. Drive Transformation and BBB-EE initiatives to ensure sustainable alignment to the company scorecard.
15. Act as a change management architect in periods of change to ensure continuity.
16. Facilitate the necessary presentations, workshops or forums to ensure consistent and accurate communication is given across one’s department.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements: Work Experience

1. 5 Years’ experience in a Quality Assurance Management Role.
2. 2 Years’ experience delivering Quality Assurance automation programmes.
3. 2 Years’ experience working in an Agile run project environment.
4. Proven track record of successful error free deployments.

Minimum Requirements: Education

1. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
2. Technical certification in Testing accreditations preferable (Example: ISO).
3. Project Management certification (advantageous).
