About Us We are a design-focused, architect-led practice based in Swindon, working on a wide range of domestic and small residential projects — including bespoke extensions, loft conversions, refurbishments, and one-off new homes. We’re looking for a Structural Engineer who shares our commitment to quality design and enjoys working closely with architects and clients to bring ideas to life. We're based at The National Self Build & Renovation Centre in Swindon, but you can work regularly if not predominantly from anywhere in the South-West, be that Bristol, Bath, Oxford, Reading - anywhere within a reasonable and infrequent commute. About the Role You’ll play a key role in the development of the practice, providing structural input from concept through to completion. The position suits someone with a solid foundation in building structures who enjoys problem-solving, client interaction, and seeing projects through on site. Key Responsibilities Produce structural calculations, drawings, and technical reports for domestic projects. Work collaboratively with architects, clients, and contractors to develop practical and elegant design solutions. Carry out site visits and inspections of existing structures and ongoing works. Ensure all designs meet current Building Regulations, codes, and standards. Manage multiple small projects with autonomy and attention to detail. About You Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Minimum 3 years’ experience in building structures (domestic/residential preferred). Proficient in the design of steel, timber, masonry, and concrete structures. Experience using design software such as Tedds, Tekla, or similar. Strong communication skills and a collaborative, design-minded approach.
