Description Salary: £37,280 - £39,152 pro rata Hours per week: 22.5 hours Interview date: Thursday 30 April 2026 The SEND Service works to improve outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them and their families feel included in their communities. Our approach is guided by principles designed with families and staff, placing the child or young person at the heart of everything we do. The objective is to ensure children and young people with a sight impairment can develop mobility and independent living skills in educational settings and in their home environments. The Habilitation Specialist for Children and Young People with Vision Impairment works closely with advisory teachers to develop orientation, mobility, and independent living skills. The team covers Wiltshire delivering appropriate individual Habilitation training to CYPVI in a range of settings (e.g. homes and home area, nurseries, schools, colleges, and public places of relevance to the CYPVI and their needs). The role also involves carrying out assessments, reviews, and referrals to internal and external agencies. Staff are based in Chippenham, Trowbridge, and Salisbury hubs, with some home working and travel across Wiltshire and beyond. We are looking for a qualified Habilitation Specialist to join our dynamic team. Driving is an essential part of the role. The role is 0.6 FTE. Why us?
