About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Highways Safety Inspector to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in upholding the highest safety standards on our road networks.
This is a site-based role involving Highway Safety Inspections across the M25 DBFO Network. The Highway Safety Inspectors are responsible for conducting daily driven and monthly walked inspections to identify safety defects across various asset types that pose risks to road users and customers. The role involves identifying and escalating defect information to relevant network teams for hazard mitigation and defect repairs.
What you'll be doing
* Safety Compliance: Conduct thorough inspections of highways, roads, and related infrastructure to ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and policies.
* Risk Assessment: Identify potential safety hazards, assess risks, and recommend mitigation measures to prevent accidents.
* Quality Assurance: Evaluate maintenance activities to ensure they meet safety standards, providing feedback to project teams.
* Data Analysis: Collect and analyze road safety data to contribute to safety strategies.
* Collaboration: Work with stakeholders including National Highways, CPS, depot teams, and local communities to promote safety and best practices.
Who we're looking for
* Full clean UK driving licence
* Experience in highway maintenance contracts
* Knowledge of highway & motorway defects
* Understanding of highway construction and repair requirements
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* CSCS site visitor card
* City & Guilds 6033 – Highway Inspection (preferable) or equivalent
