A client within the Public Sector based in Northamptonshire is currently recruiting for a Principal Surveyor to join their Assets & Environment team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a property and estates management environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to deliver a range of professional estate management casework, focusing on maximising the value and performance of the council’s corporate estate. The role will also include identifying, acquiring, and commissioning suitable properties for use as children’s homes, as well as managing the disposal of larger development sites valued over £5 million. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Leading on complex leasehold acquisitions, disposals, licences, easements, and wayleaves. • Managing the delivery of asset valuations for accounting purposes and ensuring accurate reporting. • Providing expert property advice to council directorates, including occupancy agreements and valuation reports. • Supporting the capital receipts programme and identifying surplus assets for disposal. • Overseeing acquisition and commissioning of properties for children’s residential care use. The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require: • Degree in Property, Surveying, or a related discipline. • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS or FRICS). • Minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience in estate or asset management. The below skills would be beneficial for the role: • Strong negotiation and communication skills. • Experience delivering property development or acquisition projects. • Up-to-date knowledge of public sector property legislation and valuation standards. The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £50 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £40 per hour PAYE).
