Senior Healthcare Support Worker – Medical Ward
We are looking for a healthcare support worker to join Ward 3, a busy acute medical ward that strives to provide patients with an excellent standard of care in a busy but happy environment. You will learn new skills and help patients achieve the best possible care. Our experienced team will support you in settling into the role, and we are flexible with part‑time working hours for the right candidate.

Fixed term for 6 months
Band 3 – Salary Range £28,011 – £30,230 per annum (pro rata)
Distant Islands Allowance £2,482 per annum (pro rata)
We currently have two full‑time positions available and will consider suitable candidates for part‑time or full‑time work. These posts are fixed term for 6 months to provide additional support during a busy period; substantive hours are likely available after the fixed term.
Applicants should have education to SVQ2 level in healthcare or equivalent experience working in a caring environment, effective written and verbal communication skills, numeracy, and an interest in developing healthcare knowledge.
* Comply with induction standards and the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers within 3 months of starting.
* Join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or complete a PVG update before a formal offer is made.
Due to the urgent need to fill this position, applications from overseas or relocation to Shetland cannot be considered.
