SENIOR COMMERCIAL LAWYER – 12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT
HIGH WYCOMBE
HYBRID WORKING – 3 DAYS IN OFFICE; 2 DAYS FROM HOME
Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a purchasing, procurement, and business services organization in the food and beverages sector. They are seeking a Senior Commercial Lawyer to join their legal team on a 12-month fixed term contract. The company handles the purchasing and supply of food, packaging, equipment, and business solutions for a major restaurant franchise.
Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate will be an active and integral part of the legal team, supporting strategic objectives. The legal team aims to support enterprise-wide goals and protect the company's interests. You will provide a broad range of legal services across the business.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to draft, negotiate, and execute various commercial contracts, including framework agreements, purchase contracts, distribution agreements, services contracts, trial contracts, IT contracts, NDAs, letters of intent, and termination notices.
2. Advise and support the business on legal issues related to intellectual property, information technology, data, governance, and compliance.
3. Drive self-service initiatives by providing tools such as templates, protocols, guidance documents, and legal training.
4. Establish policies, processes, and practices to ensure good governance and compliance throughout the organization.
5. Identify and manage legal risks for the business and its members.
6. Provide practical and solution-oriented legal advice to all functions.
About You:
1. Experience in retail, FMCG, supply chain, procurement, or fast-paced environments, especially with an international footprint.
2. Understanding and experience with corporate transactions.
3. Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
4. Ability to provide clear and pragmatic advice.
5. Broad understanding of commercial law, including contract law, agency, competition law, and data protection.
6. Strong collaborator and communicator, adept at cross-functional working and stakeholder management.
7. Results-driven and capable of completing tasks efficiently.
8. Curious and eager to learn.
9. Team player with strong synergy skills.
