Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Uxbridge (Hillingdon), seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for a graduate or experienced teaching assistant who is passionate about inclusion and wants to help students with additional needs thrive both academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays.
* Support students in accessing the curriculum across a variety of subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
* Work collaboratively with the SENCO, class teachers, and external specialists to implement personalised education plans (IEPs).
* Assist with behaviour support, emotional regulation, and building students' confidence and independence.
* Adapt learning materials and teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
* Monitor student progress and contribute to regular SEN reviews and team meetings.
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting diverse learners.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Good organisational skills and a flexible, proactive mindset.
* A solid understanding of safeguarding and inclusion in education.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
