Welder Fabricator

Excellent opportunity to join an established special purpose machinery manufacturer in the Ilkley area. The role will be based on the shop floor, producing a range of standard and bespoke machinery in a range of materials. This is a permanent role from day one and would be ideal for an apprentice trained Welder Fabricator who has previous experience working in an engineering environment.
As the Fabricator Welder you will:
* Set welding equipment to the correct parameters, including amps, volts, wire speed & gas
* Read, interpret & work to engineering drawings to accurately produce high quality assemblies, quality checking welds to ensure they meet required specifications
* Accurately select parts required for assembly operation & ensure parts picked are in good condition
* Carry out MIG welding & basic TIG adhering to safety critical welding parameters & processes.
* Work with a range of materials including mild steel, some stainless and sheet metal in a variety of thicknesses
* Use a variety of hand tools & operate rolling & swaging machinery (training provided)
* Use a variety of cutting methods including, gas, plasma & cutting discs
As the Fabricator Welder you will be:
* Level 3 apprentice trained in Welding & Fabrication
* Ideally coded welder ISO standard 9606
* Skilled in MIG welding and basic TIG
* Experienced in welding a range of materials in an engineering environment
* Able to work to and interpret engineering drawings
* Able to work independently and be self-motivated
* Excellent attention to detail
* Hard working and conscientious with a can-do attitude
* Experienced in Pneumatics and pipe fitting
* Professional, with a strong understanding of quality & health & safety procedures
* Able to meet deadlines & work to production schedules

You would work fixed shifts and there are 2 shifts available:
Early shift 6am-2:15pm M-F, £16.82 (DOE) inclusive of 10% shift allowance
Late shift 2:15pm-12.30am M-W 2:15pm-12am Thur - £19.11 (DOE) inclusive of 25% shift allowance
25 days holiday plus BH's (close over Xmas)
4% pension, rising to 6% employer after 12 months
Death in service x 3 if in the pension or capped at 10k
