Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s Home (2-Bed EBD)
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience, excluding sleep-in and on-call payments)
Hours: Full-time, including shift work and on-call duties

Essential Criteria
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a residential children’s setting, ideally as a Deputy Manager or Senior Residential Support Worker
* Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and complex needs
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation
* Proven ability to lead, support, and motivate a team
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties
Desirable Criteria
* Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards Level 5)
* Experience supporting inspections and regulatory compliance
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operational management of the home
* Lead, motivate, and support the residential staff team
* Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and daily records are maintained to a high standard
* Promote safeguarding and ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and Ofsted requirements
* Provide regular supervision, guidance, and performance support to staff
* Support the delivery of therapeutic and trauma-informed care practices
* Work collaboratively with professionals, families, and external agencies
* Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence, including undertaking on-call responsibilities
