Hays Recruitment have partnered with Leicestershire County Council in the search for Senior Technical Specialist with a strong knowledge of Unified Comms. As the SME in the team, you will own and be responsible for the provision of maintenance, support, development and consultancy for specific technology stacks within the Unified Comms infrastructure to ensure that IT system services remain stable, reliable & resilient in a cost effective manner.
Mentoring and guiding technical specialists and other technical staff is key as part of the knowledge sharing ethos within the team. You will also be expected to co-ordinate small teams of technicians to deliver new services and service improvements.
Your new role will involve
Own, support, install and implement IT infrastructure solutions related to Unified Comms and Corporate email delivery
Liaise with team members, the wider IT department and our customers
Advise on technical and security standards to ensure compliance, security of systems and services to maintain high service availability.
The role encompasses all aspects of Networking, including Network related Security
Cloud, Hosted and SaaS, PaaS & IaaS Services
Telephony & Unified Communications
Messaging & Email Services
Identity Management
Load Balancing & Certificate Management
Windows Server Administration
Disaster Recovery
Remote Access Services
Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM)
What you need to succeed
In depth experience Unified Comms, ideally in a public sector organisation
Demonstrable experience in messaging, Exchange and O365
Demonstrable experience and understanding of secure email gateways
Strong understanding of email routing
Ability to demonstrate awareness of end to end Unified Comms stack
The ability to manage the life cycle and become an expert in your tech stack
Knowledge of Microsoft, Oracle, Solaris, Linux and VMWare is advantageous.
Strong desire to future proof perimeter security against future threats
Ability to mentor and knowledge share
There will be occasional out of hours requirements for planned works or major incidents, therefore you will need to be within an hour of the location and have your own transport.
