Overview
The post is a 10 session inpatient/outpatient consultant position based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital (inpatients) and Crown House, Greenock (outpatients). The department has 3.0 wte consultant psychiatrists and 1 wte SAS doctor. GP, foundation and core trainees are attached on rotation. The successful applicant should have an interest in supporting the career progression of trainees and contributing to the departmental teaching program.
Responsibilities
* Manage your own caseload with inpatient care allocated on a rotational basis.
* Provide care across inpatient and outpatient services, supporting ongoing care on the onsite HBCCC ward.
* Contribute to the established local division group and maintain good working links with colleagues across sub-specialties.
* Support the career progression of trainees and participate in teaching and professional development activities.
* Engage in on-call responsibilities as part of the 9am–5pm Monday to Friday pattern plus On Call Rota.
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration with a license to practise.
* Eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register; evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT for UK-trained applicants, or within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.
* CESR route doctors are eligible to apply for a substantive post only after CESR is awarded; non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Contract and Working Pattern
* Full-time post on a 10 PA basis; applications from those wishing to work less than full-time will be considered.
* Up to 2 EPA sessions may be available for additional outpatient and/or procedure sessions or management activity.
* Additional Non DCC up to 2 PA’s in total may be negotiated between the successful candidate and Management based on service needs.
* Newly qualified Consultants are offered a minimum of 1 Core Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) with review and potential increase after 6 months.
