A look into the role


If you enjoy working on a variety of projects and providing deep and independent insight you’ll fit right in. As a Advisory Data Insights Analyst you will:

1. Partner with Leadership, Business Development, Marketing, Finance and client-facing teams to understand business focuses and shape reporting priorities
2. Develop, maintain and continuously enhance recurring reporting packs for leadership using data from firmwide and Advisory reporting and dashboards. Produce reporting packs that highlight key metrics, trends and opportunities. These will enable the Advisory leadership team to make informed decisions relating to investment, client strategy and market growth
3. Ensure all reports and insights are accurate, timely and aligned with business strategy and objectives
4. Translate data into clear, compelling narratives for senior stakeholders, including Partners and leadership team. Where required, present findings to leadership teams
5. You will work closely with the Advisory Leadership Team, the Advisory Head of Cross-Sell, as well as the central Data & Insights team. Key to this role is the ability to work closely with these teams and pivotally, with the senior leaders. To be effective in this role you will need to influence both Partners and Directors as well as your peers.
6. Oversee data integrity across CRM and finance systems, ensuring consistent and accurate reporting. Work closely with Dynamics, Finance, IT and Business Development teams to resolve data issues, align definitions and maintain data quality standards
7. As such we will be looking for strong communication and organisational skills and an ability to get the job done. This is an opportunity to help shape the strategy of the team, thus directly contributing to their growth and success

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual with experience in data analysis and insights. You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of timely, data-driven insights that support the growth and business development strategy of the Advisory practice. You will be responsible for producing reporting packs highlighting key metrics and insights that will support the Advisory leadership team to make important decisions relating to future investment to support growth.

Examples of the sorts of insights include:

8. Top 20 clients by service line / operating unit / sector / region
9. Sector trends and insights
10. Opportunity conversion rates and insights
11. Intermediary reciprocity insights
12. Trends in why we’re winning / losing opportunities
13. Competitor insights and trends – who’s winning the work with our key clients when we’re not
14. Referral volumes and trends between service lines / operating units
15. Pipeline velocity: How long opportunities spend in each stage, broken down by SL and sector
16. Client relationship health scoring: How “deep” and “broad” are our relationships?
17. Dormant but high potential accounts
18. High-growth sectors with low firm penetration

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as a Advisory Data Insight Analyst, the minimum criteria you’ll need is

19. Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience
20. Experience in data analysis within a professional services, consulting, finance or similar environment
21. Existing knowledge and experience of Microsoft Dynamics and PowerBI
22. Strong analytical skills in interpreting financial data
23. Ability to transform complex data sets into meaningful insights and clear stories
24. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and data quality
25. Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and manage competing priorities

It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

26. Experience of using AI and automation tools
27. Have tenacity, resilience and a capability to drive projects through to completion
28. Understanding of sales pipelines, BD metrics and client lifecycle in a professional services context
29. Advanced Excel skills
30. Strong intrapersonal skills
31. Excellent commercial awareness
32. Commercial mindset with a curiosity for uncovering underlying trends and opportunities
