Veterinary Surgeon
Celyn Vet Group
Up to £65,000 DOE + Relocation allowance up to £5,000, plus benefits
Calling all dedicated Veterinary Surgeons! If you are looking for a varied role, working alongside a supportive team then read below.
Our vets are responsible for performing consultations, checking prescriptions as per the RCVS guidelines, returning client calls and performing routine surgery during the day. We aim to have high clinical standards and expect our vets to offer a high-level service to our patients and clients each day. We also pride ourselves on being a supportive team, so all of the vets are responsible for supporting our recent graduate vets to a level that they are comfortable, and our RVNs and SVNs with their training. We encourage our RVNs to perform schedule 3 procedures under VS guidance.
Find Flexibility at Celyn Vet Group
Our rota is flexible, as we have some vets who take advantage of working 3.5 days per week, but we also have vets who choose to work 4 shorter days. We are open to part-time hours too, as we understand the importance of a work/life balance. We do require the successful candidate to join our 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota (8am-12pm consults only). There are no out of hours responsibilities.
Our Exceptional Practice
We have all the usual toys, ultrasound, digital x-ray, in-house haematology and biochemistry, microscope, dental x-ray. We have separate cat and dog wards. We are based right next to the beautiful North Wales coastline, whilst being only 20 minutes from Chester, 1 hour from Liverpool city centre and direct trains to Manchester and London. We also have the Snowdonia national park on our doorstep to explore.
About the Team and Culture
We have 3 full-time vets and 1 part-time vet, 4 RVNs, 1 SVN and a VCA. We have 3 receptionists and a head receptionist, a practice manager and clinical director (one of the vets). We have 2 vets working towards certificates, one in ECC and one in surgery. We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who is passionate about providing excellent standards of care for their patients, and owners alike. Who understands the importance of communication within the team, as well as with our clients. We are a friendly team, who like to socialise outside of work, and would love to welcome a likeminded individual into the team. We have an annual Christmas charity fundraiser, this year it was for the North Wales search and rescue dogs, and we regularly donate supplies to the local animal shelter (NCAR).
More About You
We are looking for a motivated, friendly, outgoing vet, with high clinical standards. A certificate or plan to start a certificate is desired, but not essential. Experience with sole charge would be advantageous, as we do work sole charge in our Prestatyn branch one day a week, and on Saturday mornings.
