About The Role
As Managing Director, you'll:
* Take full P&L responsibility for GB Steel
* Drive organic growth through operational excellence, sales, and marketing
* Lead and develop the management team, creating a culture of accountability and ownership
* Work with the private equity owners to identify, integrate, and grow acquisitions
* Build strong customer and supplier relationships to underpin long-term success
* Ensure the company runs efficiently, safely, and profitably while investing in future growth
* Represent GB Steel externally, building credibility and presence in the market
Who You Are
* Proven experience in a senior leadership role — ideally MD, GM, or equivalent
* Strong background in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial sectors
* Track record of delivering growth, driving change, and improving performance
* Commercially sharp with experience in sales, operations, and P&L ownership
* Capable of working with investors/owners in a private equity-backed business
* Inspirational leader — able to motivate teams, challenge effectively, and drive accountability
* Ambitious, resilient, and excited by the challenge of scaling a business
