Our Primary School, catering to children aged 4 – 11 and serving 463 pupils, is located in Havering. The school prepares its pupils for top day and boarding senior schools in the country, working at a level significantly above National Curriculum expectations.

The KS1 or KS2 Phase Leader is responsible for the education and welfare of a class, ensuring safety and high standards of learning and achievement. They are expected to promote and support the school's ethos, aims, and vision, maintaining its educational philosophy. The Class Teacher reports to the Head of Section, SLT, and ultimately the Head. This role offers a chance to make a significant impact in a school that values excellence, creativity, and the development of every child's potential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Contribute to raising attainment by preparing and delivering engaging lessons tailored to pupils’ needs.
2. Foster a learning environment that develops self-esteem and interpersonal skills.
3. Set clear learning objectives and outcomes, building on prior knowledge, with appropriate challenge.
4. Establish effective relationships with colleagues and exemplify professional conduct.
5. Participate actively in school meetings and events.
6. Ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of all pupils under your care.
7. Adhere to policies related to child protection, reporting concerns appropriately.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
1. Teaching qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
2. Knowledge of the National Curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2.
3. Proficiency in ICT.
4. Ability to employ a range of effective teaching strategies.
5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
6. Creativity in problem-solving and openness to new approaches.
7. Experience or knowledge of girls-only education (desirable).
8. Familiarity with the London Independent day school system (desirable).
