About the Department
The department of orthopaedics at NHS Golden Jubilee is one of the largest arthroplasty units in the United Kingdom, with 25 consultants in post. The department performs approximately 5,000 total hip and knee replacements, 600 foot and ankle procedures, as well as soft tissue knee and hand/wrist surgery. There is an established enhanced recovery programme, and a robotics programme with 2 MAKO robots. We also provide a tertiary revision arthroplasty service and have a large research department including industry‑funded research and use of a motion analysis lab.
Opportunity
This post offers an exciting opportunity to further develop services at NHSGJ in purpose‑built new facilities as part of our Phase 2 elective expansion programme with 5 additional laminar flow theatres to add to our existing 6 theatres.
Requirements
Applicants must be registered with the General Medical Council and be listed on the Specialist Register (or eligible to be on the specialty register i.e. within 6 months of CCT or CESR application submitted) and hold a higher surgical qualification in Orthopaedics from one of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons or equivalent, if from outside the UK.
