We are currently recruiting reliable and practical School Caretakers / Site Supervisors to support schools on a temporary and interim basis, providing cover during absences, vacancies or transitional periods. These roles arise periodically throughout the academic year, with immediate starts often available. About the Role As a School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school site is safe, secure, clean and well maintained. Duties may involve full caretaking responsibilities or focus on specific areas such as site security, maintenance or cleaning supervision, depending on the schools needs and your experience. This role would be particularly well suited to experienced or former school caretakers who are looking to keep a hand in the education sector on a flexible or interim basis. Key Responsibilities (Duties will vary depending on assignment) Opening and closing the school site, including locking and unlocking buildings Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs and site inspections Ensuring health & safety compliance and reporting defects or hazards Monitoring site security, alarms and fire safety procedures Supervising cleaning staff and maintaining cleanliness standards Liaising with contractors and overseeing works on site Supporting deliveries, room set-ups and general portering duties About You Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Supervisor or Facilities Officer is desirable Practical maintenance and DIY skills Good awareness of health & safety and site security procedures Reliable, flexible and able to work independently Friendly, professional approach when working with staff, pupils and visitors What We Offer Periodical interim assignments to suit your availability Competitive hourly pay rates Holiday pay Flexible working patterns, including split shifts where required Opportunities to work in a range of local schools Safeguarding Commitment Goddard Recruitment is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
