Head of Care – Thimbleby Court
Location: Horncastle
Service Type: Residential, Dementia and Respite Care
Salary: £34,000 to £36,000 per annum depending on experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full time, permanent
Are you an experienced care leader with a passion for delivering exceptional support to older adults?
Thimbleby Court in Horncastle is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Care to join our leadership team. This is a key senior role within the home, working closely with the Registered Manager to lead our care teams and ensure the highest standards of person centred care across our residential, dementia and respite services.
As Head of Care, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality of care delivery, clinical governance, compliance, and team development, ensuring our residents receive safe, compassionate, and dignified care at all times.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Registered Manager, you will:
* Lead and manage the care team to deliver outstanding, person centred care
* Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and medication management
* Drive quality assurance, internal audits, and continuous improvement
* Ensure full compliance with CQC standards and regulatory requirements
* Support recruitment, supervision, training, and performance management of care staff
* Promote a culture of dignity, respect, safety, and compassion
* Build strong professional relationships with residents, families, and external professionals
* Support the overall operational leadership of the home
What We Are Looking For
* Proven experience in a senior care leadership role such as Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, or equivalent
* Strong knowledge of CQC regulatory standards and safeguarding practices
* Experience leading audits, compliance processes, and quality improvement initiatives
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Ability to manage a busy and varied workload with resilience and professionalism
* A genuine passion for improving the lives of older people
Qualifications Required
* Level 3 in Health and Social Care minimum
* Level 4 or Level 5 in Leadership and Management desirable or willingness to work towards
* Alternatively a Nursing or Social Work qualification
* Up to date safeguarding, medication management, and infection control training
* Demonstrable experience within a CQC regulated care home
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
