What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering secure, scalable architectures that support BT’s portfolio of services. Working across multidisciplinary teams, you’ll ensure solutions are technically sound, repeatable, and aligned with customer and regulatory expectations.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Designing infrastructure and application architectures for secure, high-availability environments
2. Leading technical discovery and translating customer needs into actionable designs
3. Driving product and architecture roadmaps that align with strategic and commercial goals
4. Supporting identity, access, and federated login systems for government and enterprise clients
5. Ensuring solutions meet cybersecurity and compliance standards (e.g. NIST, ISO 27002, CIS Controls)
6. Producing clear, actionable documentation including proposals, scopes of work, and risk assessments
7. Collaborating with stakeholders to align solutions with strategic goals and product roadmaps
8. Driving innovation in architecture to solve complex challenges in secure environments
The skills you’ll need
We’re looking for someone who brings deep technical expertise and thrives in complex, customer-focused environments. Ideally, you’ll have experience working in:
9. Large-scale or regulated environments, where governance, compliance, and security are critical
10. Designing and delivering solution architectures that meet both functional and non-functional requirements
11. Shaping product and architecture roadmaps aligned with business strategy
12. Designing and integrating APIs and web services across complex platforms
13. Hands-on cloud architecture or migration experience, particularly with AWS-native services
14. Architecting secure IP telephony solutions, including protocol-level design and service architecture
15. Navigating governance and security sign-off processes, particularly in enterprise or public sector settings
16. Applying cybersecurity principles to infrastructure and application design
17. Collaborating directly with customers and stakeholders to shape and deliver technical solutions
18. Integrating systems using APIs, web services, and cloud-native technologies
Bonus experience
19. Experience working with public sector organisations or regulated industries
20. A background in identity and access management, or experience in consumer-scale platforms
21. Familiarity with cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure models
