We are seeking a newly qualified accountant (0–2 years PQE) to join a dynamic and fast-paced macro hedge fund based in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded individual to gain broad exposure across fund accounting, financial reporting, and business operations within a high-performing investment environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Assist with NAV calculations and investor reporting
* Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records
* Support the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors
Fund Operations
* Work closely with fund administrators to oversee fund accounting activities
* Review reconciliations (cash, positions, P&L) and investigate discrepancies
* Assist in monitoring portfolio valuations and pricing sources
Management Reporting
* Produce internal management accounts and variance analysis
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes
* Deliver ad hoc financial analysis to support investment and operational decisions
Controls & Compliance
* Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial procedures
* Assist with regulatory reporting requirements
* Support implementation and improvement of financial processes and systems
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
* 0–2 years post-qualified experience (PQE)
Experience
* Background in audit, fund accounting, or financial services preferred
* Exposure to investment management, hedge funds, or asset management advantageous
* Strong technical accounting knowledge
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy
* Proactive, self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial systems is a plus
