Your newpany
As a school administrator for this school in Blackburn, you will be responsible for supporting the school business manager to contribute to the smooth running of the office by carrying out a range of financial and administrative duties, including inputting of orders, general admin support, attendance administration and reception cover. You will be expected to demonstrate solid work experience in an administration role and be able to use initiative, be enthusiastic and motivated in providing excellent customer support. School experience and a DBS on the update service would be an advantage.
This is a full-time position working Monday–Friday am - 4pm, and you will be required from June 2025 for a period of 12 months on a temporary basis.
Your new role
1. Provide general administrative and financial support to the school business manager.
2. General financial administration, including inputting orders and ensuring payments are made.
3. Perform clerical duties for out-of-school activities, school newsletters, and prospectuses.
4. Undertake reception duties, being one of the first points of contact for pupils, parents and visitors.
5. Offer general clerical support: photocopying, filing, formpletion, correspondence, and note-taking.
6. Maintain manual andputerised records using the Arbor system.
7. Handle mail distribution and routine administration of school premises.
8. Assist with exam organisation, invigilation, and teaching cover arrangements.
9. Assist with pupil welfare and liaising with staff and parents.
10. Support in the arrangement of school trips and school events.
11. Support the school team, engage in personal development, andply with policies on child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality.
What you'll need to succeed
12. Previous experience in an educational environment
13. Proven experience of working in a finance or administration role
14. Experience of using Arbor or other school management systems
15. Knowledge of financial procedures within an education setting
16. A friendly, professional, and helpful attitude
17. A high level of confidentiality and discretion
18. Amitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
