Gap Personnel are currently recruiting for a Nights Maintenance Engineer to join our client’s engineering team on a permanent night shift. This is a key role supporting production by keeping machinery running safely and efficiently.
Location: Telford
Shift: 4 on / 4 off nights (7:00pm – 7:00am)
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Duties and Responsibilities as a Nights Maintenance Engineer:
* Responding quickly to machine breakdowns and carrying out repairs
* Diagnosing faults across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
* Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
* Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime
* Ensuring all machinery is safe and compliant with regulations
* Recording maintenance work and updating logs
* Supporting continuous improvement and reducing waste
* Assisting with installation and commissioning of new equipment
Experience and qualifications required as a Nights Maintenance Engineer:
* Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
* 18th Edition Electrical Installations qualification.
* Proven experience in a Maintenance Engineer role within a manufacturing environment.
* Advanced mechanical, electrical, and systems knowledge.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities.
* Understanding of safety systems, PUWER, and equipment compliance requirements.
* Effective communication and training skills for both engineers and operators.
