The role
As a Senior Commercial Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping commercial strategy and driving performance across our Engineering and Systems Integration business unit. This is a pivotal leadership role where your decisions will directly impact national defence capabilities, operational excellence, and long-term business success.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
* Lead commercial strategy and operations for the West Midlands production site
* Drive governance and provide expert guidance across contract activities
* Negotiate with customers, suppliers, and partners to secure optimal outcomes
* Develop and manage pre-contractual agreements and commercial documentation
* Collaborate with leadership to support bids, tenders, and growth initiatives
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 - 3 days in the office/onsite and 1 -2 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Commercial Manager:
* Demonstrating a strong track record in contract negotiation and commercial governance
* Applying legal frameworks and principles to complex commercial environments
* Influencing senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility
* Managing full contract lifecycles in multi-disciplinary settings
* Interpreting financial data and driving cash control and billing performance
Qualifications for the Senior Commercial Manager:
* Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a commercial discipline
* Experience in defence, engineering, or vehicle manufacturing sectors – is preferred
