I am working with a brilliant independent Practice in the mid-tier space looking to strengthen their Audit team with a Manager hire. This role will heavily support their technology and media portfolio of clients, which is a growing sector of specialisation for the firm. The firm is partner-led, proudly independent and free of private equity investment with no immediate plans to change this, developing future equity partners from within.
The firm strives for true specialisation within each of their focal sectors. This is achieved through the careful tailoring of the portfolio, selectively taking on the most relevant and rewarding of engagements, and of course at the root of it all is a genuine interest and enjoyment of the sector.
Both the firm and this team in particular offer the best of both worlds in terms of client size, giving you the chance to work with entrepreneurial start-ups and SMEs, as well as listed and international clients. You will also be heavily involved in supporting the growth and maintenance of this portfolio, acting as a key client contact.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a diverse portfolio of technology and media clients, identifying opportunities for growth and deepening client relationships
2. Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing strategic insight and sector-specific expertise
3. Oversee the full audit cycle, ensuring high standards and efficient delivery, from planning through to reporting
4. Stay up to date with sector developments, including emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and industry trends
5. Support the day-to-day running of the audit function, mentoring junior staff and contributing as a subject matter expert in both audit and the tech/media space
Requirements:
6. ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
7. Proven experience working in a UK-based Practice firm
8. Demonstrable experience managing a portfolio of sector relevant clients
9. Excellent client-facing and relationship-building skills
10. Adept with IFRS and UK GAAP, ideally having serviced listed, international clients as well as private, smaller-sized clients
11. Genuine interest in the technology and media sectors, and a desire to work with innovative, fast-moving businesses
