The ideal candidate would possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
NVQ level 3 and Phlebotomy qualifications essential.

We are the largestpractice in Middlesbrough with 9 GP partners, 1 NursePractitioner, 4 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, 2 Phlebotomists and a superb group of highly committed and enthusiasticadministrative and reception staff. We're situated close to the town centrewith a list size of over 20,000 patients and operate from purpose built premises inLinthorpe and a branch surgery situated in the North Ormesby Health Village. Linthorpe Surgery is a well-establishedtraining practice and regularly teach universityundergraduate students.
Job responsibilities
* a.Consultwith patients and their families to undertake assessments of patient need
* b. Deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision oftreatment, preventative care, health promotion, long-term condition managementand patient education
* c.Bean integral part of the general practice team
* d.Provideclinical support to registered nurses and other healthcare professionals within the organisation
* e.Deliverbasic clinical care interventions under supervision, supporting continuity ofcare and patient safety initiatives
* g.Ensurespecimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
* h.Providesupport during minor operations as required
* i.Ensureclinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced inaccordance with the organisations IPC Policy
* j.Workwithin national and local protocols where these exist
* k.Beaware of your duties and responsibilities regarding current legislation andadhere to practice policies and procedures on Safeguarding Adults andSafeguarding Children
* l.Recognisethe boundaries of their practice and know when and to whom patients should bereferred
* m.Supportin the delivery of enhanced services and other service requirements
* n.Support the administrative team on an as-required basis
* o.Undertakeall mandatory training and induction programmes
* p.Contributeto and embrace the spectrum of clinical governance
* q.Maintaina clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
* r.Attenda formal appraisal with their manager at least every 12 months. Once a performance/training objective has been set, progress will be reviewed on a regular basis so that new objectives can be agreed
Person Specification
Experience
* Practical experience of working in a team
* Experience of using own initiative
* Understanding of infection prevention and control measures
* Experience of working within a General Practice
Skills
* Time management and the ability to work to deadlines
* Interpersonal skills
* Understanding of the principles of ECGs
* Ability to undertake patient medicals, including height, weight, BP, pulse and BMI
* Understanding of safeguarding adults and children
* Wound care, including removal of sutures and staples
* Feno and spirometry testing
Qualifications
* Good standard of general education
* Qualified to NVQ level 3
* Qualified in Phlebotomy
