Primary Chef Vacancy - Reading Contract, Berkshire
We are hiring for a Primary Chef within our Reading Contract in Berkshire, committed to providing nutritionally balanced and tasty food for future generations. This role is term-time only and involves no weekends, making it ideal for those seeking flexibility.
The Role:
* 22.5 - 30 hours per week, working Monday to Friday (flexible hours available)
* Term-time only – 38.6 weeks per year (193 days including 3 inset days)
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, cook, and present food to standards required by Caterlink and the client
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Food Safety, and environmental legislation and procedures
* Enhance the company’s reputation through excellent food and service, exceeding expectations
* Manage the daily operations of the location, supervise teams, manage inventories, monitor budgets, and implement action plans
* Act as the main contact for the client at your school, recommending and implementing improvements
* Communicate regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets
* Support and train team members, ensuring all training is completed and performance is managed
