Join to apply for the Site Maintenance Supervisor role at The Jockey Club.

We’re looking for a hands-on Site Maintenance Supervisor to take full responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep of our historic racecourse. Leading a small team and managing contractors, you’ll oversee electrical, mechanical, and general maintenance while rolling up your sleeves to tackle tasks yourself. With solid trade experience and knowledge of electrical systems, alarms, lighting, and cabling, you’ll play a key role in keeping our facilities safe, efficient, and running to the highest standards.

The Site Maintenance Supervisor will

* Lead and support the on-site maintenance team, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
* Plan, allocate, and oversee daily workloads while providing guidance to staff.
* Manage the job logging system, resolving reactive and planned jobs promptly.
* Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes and general site upkeep.
* Coordinate contractors from booking to on-site supervision, ensuring full compliance with H&S standards.
* Provide hands-on support for maintenance tasks and minor projects where needed.
* Support race days, events, and functions, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations while driving sustainability and cost-saving initiatives.

About you

* Proven background in a relevant trade such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or general maintenance.
* Qualified to City & Guilds IEE 18th Edition Regulations (BS7671); Test & Inspection certs a bonus.
* Skilled in electrical diagnostics, fault finding, and hands-on maintenance.
* Experience planning and delivering maintenance programmes and minor projects.
* Knowledge of building systems (lighting, cabling, hydraulics) and building fabric upkeep.
* Strong supervisory skills with experience managing teams and contractors.
* Solid understanding of health & safety, with certification desirable.
* Flexible, organised, and able to perform under pressure during events and busy periods.
