Engineer Surveyor – Lift & Crane (Leeds)
Join Allianz UK’s Engineering Inspection Services as an Engineer Surveyor focusing on lifts, cranes and material handling equipment. You will conduct site inspections, assess plant and equipment, and produce reports to ensure compliance with legislation.
Role Description
Allianz is a global insurance company serving across 70 countries. As an Engineer Surveyor you will visit client sites to carry out inspections and assess a wide range of plant, equipment and installations. New recruits join our induction training programme.
Responsibilities
* Anticipate client needs and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
* Work closely with the Engineer Surveyor team led by Senior Operations Team Leaders.
* Prepare inspection reports using electronic reporting tools for fast delivery to clients.
* Carry out hands‑on inspections of lifts, material‑handling equipment, cranes and construction plant.
* Support fellow surveyors as needed and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills
* NVQ Level 3 or above in a mechanical related subject.
* Full valid UK driving licence.
* Knowledge of lift and crane compliance and regulatory rules.
* Strong planning and time‑management skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication.
* Experience with lifts, cranes and material‑handling equipment preferred.
* Willingness to travel within allocated area and work at height, in confined spaces, lifting, climbing, in hot and cold conditions; exposure to noise and dust is acceptable.
Desirable Skills
* Incorporated Engineer accreditation.
Salary Information
Starting Salary £44,213 plus a company car and other benefits.
