Overview
We are seeking a commercially astute Solicitor to lead the legal components of our Motor Finance Claims within the Financial Mis-Selling Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for an SRA-qualified solicitor who enjoys combining technical legal work with practical, process-driven delivery. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure that the team’s work is both legally robust and operationally efficient, while also collaborating with the COLP to maintain high professional and compliance standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the legal quality, accuracy, and consistency of our claims while contributing to the continuous improvement of our approach to financial mis-selling litigation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead on the legal aspects of motor finance mis-selling claims, ensuring strategies and case handling meet professional and regulatory standards.
* Review and refine legal documentation, pleadings, and advice to ensure quality and compliance.
* Provide legal guidance and oversight to the operations team on complex or technical matters.
* Collaborate with the Operations Manager to align legal processes with efficient case handling and client outcomes.
* Work with the COLP to ensure adherence to SRA and FCA regulatory requirements and risk management practices.
* Support the development and implementation of best practices, workflows, and templates to enhance the department’s effectiveness.
* Stay up to date on legal, regulatory, and industry developments relevant to financial mis-selling and consumer credit.
* Apply strong commercial awareness to ensure legal activities support the firm’s operational and financial goals.
Key Requirements
* Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) and SRA-registered.
* Experience in financial mis-selling, motor finance, consumer protection, or litigation desirable.
* Understanding of FCA-regulated activity and consumer redress processes advantageous.
* Strong drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a pragmatic and commercially minded approach.
* Ability to work effectively across legal, operational, and compliance functions.
