Teaching Assistant – Speech and Language Support (Year 1)

Pay: £13.75 - £14.50 per day (depending on experience)
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Blackpool to recruit a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to support children in Year 1 with communication and language development needs.
The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate, proactive, and patient individual who has a passion for supporting early communication skills. You will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with speech and language needs
* Deliver targeted interventions, working alongside the school’s SENCO and external specialists
* Support pupils within the classroom and during focused intervention sessions
* Monitor and record pupil progress, helping to adapt strategies as needed
* Promote confidence, social interaction, and a positive attitude to learning
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
✅ Experience working with children in an educational or care setting
✅ A strong understanding of speech and language development (or willingness to train)
✅ Excellent communication skills and a nurturing, patient approach
✅ Relevant qualifications or experience in SEND/SLCN support (desirable but not essential)
