Buyer
Our client, a leading employer of choice in the local area, is currently looking to recruit a Buyer to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role within the business ensuring all parts and materials required are purchased in line with company requirements.
The role
* Purchasing of materials and parts required for production
* Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best possible prices and lead times
* Sourcing new and alternative suppliers for parts and materials
* Responsible for call off orders for long lead time items
* Develop and maintain supplier database
* Monitor stock levels and prevent product shortages
* Liaise with production on any supply chain issues
* Chasing of late and overdue deliveries
* Other relevant duties
Essential Criteria
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a purchasing role
* Excellent negotiation skills
* Good communicator and positive can-do attitude
* Highest levels of enthusiasm towards work
* Experience in working with a MRP system
