We are looking for a calm, confident, and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a partner secondary school in the Smethwick area. This is a rewarding role supporting students in managing their behaviour, improving engagement, and developing positive strategies for success both in and out of the classroom.

* Position: Behaviour Mentor
* Location: Smethwick and surrounding areas
* Contract Type: Full-time or Part-time (flexible)
* Salary: Competitive, based on experience and responsibilities
* Work closely with students to support positive behaviour and resolve conflicts
* Implement strategies to de-escalate challenging situations and promote a calm learning environment
* Mentor and guide students to develop social, emotional, and behavioural skills
* Liaise with teachers, parents, and support staff to monitor progress and share information
* Maintain detailed records of interventions and behaviour plans
* Support students in managing their emotions and making positive choices
* Experience working with secondary school-aged students in behaviour support or mentoring roles
* Calm, confident, and patient approach to managing challenging behaviours
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to remain composed under pressure and use de-escalation techniques effectively
* De-escalation training is beneficial but not essential
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
