Finance Business Partner
Global Consumer Business
St Albans offices - 4 days per week office / 1 day wfh
Up to c£60,000 + 15% bonus and benefits
Role Overview:
The Finance Business Partner is a key position focused on delivering financial insights and strategic guidance to support business growth and profitability. This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive financial outcomes. The role is essential for fostering strong business partnerships and ensuring the financial health of the sales operations function.
Key Responsibilities:
* Business Partnering:
o Serve as the trusted finance partner to head office functions, providing actionable financial insights and analysis to drive business decisions.
o Work closely with business leaders to identify opportunities for improving profitability and efficiency, both on the commercial side and in operational expenditures (OPEX).
o Be the first point of contact for financial support, proactively managing and analysing key business projects, and offering financial guidance on all commercial matters.
o Collaborate across teams to ensure financial decisions align with broader business goals and strategic priorities.
* Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting:
o Lead the planning, budgeting, and forecasting process by challenging and translating commercial forecasts into realistic sales, cost, and profitability targets.
o Own the process for setting and tracking financial targets, reviewing and updating forecasts based on business needs and market conditions.
o Ensure that financial planning processes are aligned with company goals and adjusted as required to respond to market changes and evolving business priorities.
* Month-End Financial Close:
o Ensure the timely and accurate closing of financial accounts at month-end, including the management of accruals, prepayments, and other necessary adjustments.
o Lead the commercial reporting process, continuously improving the quality and accuracy of financial data.
o Provide senior leadership with insights into P&L, balance sheet, and other financial performance metrics, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
* Additional Responsibilities:
o Prepare and present business reviews for senior management, providing insights into financial performance and recommending actions to drive business success.
o Take ownership of pricing strategies, conduct regular profitability assessments and work with stakeholders to identify cost drivers and develop strategies to reduce costs and improve profitability over the long term.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
* Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Business, Economics, or Accounting) is highly desirable.
* Consumer business experience is highly advantageous.
* Proven track record in financial business partnering with non finance stakeholders, with the ability to build strong relationships across functions.
* Ability to effectively communicate and present complex financial data and insights to non-financial stakeholders.
* Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, with the ability to challenge assumptions and drive better business decisions.
* Strong knowledge of financial reporting processes, month-end closing, and performance analysis.
* Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a focus on collaboration and results.
