SEN Teaching Assistant Role - 1:1 Support (ASD) Start Date: Immediate / ASAP Contract: Full-time, long-term We are looking for a dedicated and patient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a boy with ASD at a specialist secondary setting in the Bushey area. This is a full-time role, supporting a pupil on an individual basis to help him access learning and thrive both in and out of the classroom. About the Role: Working closely 1:1 with a teenage boy with ASD, supporting him throughout the school day. Encouraging participation in lessons and supporting his social and emotional development. Building trust and consistency, helping him to feel secure and confident in school. Supporting behaviour management strategies and encouraging independence where possible. Collaborating with teachers and support staff to provide tailored approaches that meet his needs. What We're Looking For: Experience working with teenage boys is essential - this can be from education, youth work, sports coaching, care, or similar. Patience, empathy, and resilience to build strong relationships. A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEN, particularly ASD. Flexibility and reliability - able to work as part of a team but confident supporting independently.
