Join Our Team: Children's Seasonal Trails Producer
Location: Thorp Perrow, Bedale, North Yorkshire
Hours: Seasonal, paid hourly (hours will vary depending on the season)
The Role:
We're looking for a practical and creative individual to help design and deliver enchanting children's seasonal trails and immersive experiences across our arboretum.
This role is perfect for someone who loves hands-on practical work, bringing ideas to life through prop-making and staging, to create magical experiences for children and families. You'll help shape and set up themed trails, interactive moments, and engaging displays that change with the seasons.
What you'll be doing:
· Set up and produce trail materials. This includes building and creating props, signage and trail cues, so a good understanding of carpentry and set design is desired.
· Help to contribute creative ideas for themes, narratives, and interactive elements for all our seasonal children's trails (Easter, May Half Term, Summer, Halloween/Autumn, Christmas/Santa's Grotto)
· Work with the wider team to ensure trails are safe, accessible, and age-appropriate
· Refresh and evolve concepts year-on-year to keep experiences feeling new and exciting
Candidate:
· As you will be creating the trails, knowledge and experience of using hand tools and a good level of carpentry/set design experience is desired.
· Practical, hands-on, and happy to see ideas through from concept to reality, whilst working to deadlines.
· Happy to work in outdoor environments and seasonal settings
· Naturally creative and imaginative, with a strong sense of storytelling.
· A team player but comfortable with lone working.
· Willing to work flexibly, with hours depending on the time of year and season. Your busiest times will be the lead up to all school holidays, especially during September, October and November as this is when we have our Halloween Trail and Santa's Grotto.
· Willing to undertake the necessary training to ensure that you can perform your job safely and in line with all health and safety guidance.
