Transport Coordinator
Transport Coordinator – Newcastle-under-Lyme– £38,
The Job:
A leading animal feed logistics operation is seeking an organised and proactive Transport Coordinator to support the smooth daily running of a busy transport department. You’ll assist with planning, ensure compliance, maintain driver and vehicle records, and act as a reliable point of contact for drivers throughout the day. Strong Excel skills are essential, and experience with SAP is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate driver and vehicle records, including pre-trip checks, declarations and compliance documentation
- Monitor vehicle servicing, defects and repairs, liaising with garages and escalating safety issues as needed
- Support daily and weekly transport planning, updating rotas, schedules and system information
- Manage PODs, purchase orders and transport software records (including Tachomaster and Flexipod)
- Assist drivers with system issues and act as the first point of contact for queries
- Prepare daily and monthly operational reports and accountability boards
- Support interviews and maintain strict confidentiality
- Contribute to environmental, hazard and behaviour reporting

The Candidate:
- Highly organised, methodical and confident working under pressure
- Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively with drivers and internal teams
- Excellent IT skills, including strong Excel ability
- Experience with SAP, Flexipod, Ortec, Tachomaster or similar systems is beneficial
- Understanding of driver hours, vehicle scheduling and basic compliance
- Good knowledge of UK geography
- Detail-oriented team player with a flexible approach, including occasional weekend support
