Offer description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Equality & Human Rights Team, within the Patient Experience Department to undertake BSL interpretation work for patients and staff, in addition to supporting wider NHS Fife with accessibility for Deaf BSL users and their families, including the development of BSL communication videos. You will need to manage a busy workload, have an ability to work to tight deadlines and be adaptable to changing priorities and demands. The role requires you to have excellent communication skills, BSL public sector interpreting skills and effectively manage your own diary. You must also have a strong understanding of confidentiality and its importance as well as the ability to liaise at all levels and have with strong administrative, customer service and organisational skills and experience. You will be expected to travel across all of Fife. In return you will have the opportunity to work alongside a well established knowledgeable team and staff across NHS Fife to ensure compliance with the Equality Act 2010, the BSL Act Scotland (2015). This work will help NHS Fife progress in meeting the Fife BSL local plan and generally promote equalities and its mainstreaming across NHS Fife. Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check done than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
