* Full GMC Registration and license to practice
* Eligible for GMC Specialist Register or evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT (UK-trained) or equivalent training (non-UK)
* Portfolio Pathway doctors are eligible only after awarding of substantive consultant post
Job Description
This is a full-time fixed-term post based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, covering maternity leave and other vacancies. The role involves working up to 10 PAs across hyperacute stroke management, stroke unit, TIA, and post-stroke clinics. Less than full-time work will be considered.
The postholder will work at RIE and/or St. John’s Hospital, leading hyperacute stroke assessments, thrombolysis, thrombectomy, ward rounds, and participating in departmental meetings. The role includes regional telestroke on-call duties, service planning, teaching, supervision, clinical governance, quality improvement, and research activities, including acting as principal investigator for trials.
