2x Permanent, Part Time (0.5)

Please note that this post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onwards so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to August 2026.

The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is seeking a Lecturer to teach on a variety of courses and levels across the curriculum area, including but not limited to: BTEC, NCFE, Levels 1, 2, 3.

With tutorial responsibilities, the role will involve working collaboratively to support the effective delivery and ongoing success of the Directed Pathways Programme within the CIA School, adopting a trauma‑informed approach in all aspects of practice. This will include close engagement with curriculum teams, Community Support Officers, Pastoral Tutors, and where appropriate, external partners and the wider community. The Directed Pathways Programme promotes a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment through the implementation of strategies that reduce barriers to learning and support learner wellbeing. The post may also involve supporting learners who are looked after, NEET, attending alternative provision, or who have experienced periods of disrupted education.

As our Lecturer, we would like you to hold a degree or professional qualification in an appropriate subject, hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) and have energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education. You will have excellent teaching skills and substantial relevant teaching experience on BTEC and/or NCFE programmes with links to the industry, relevant external agencies and validating bodies and an awareness of academic quality standards.

With high personal standards and expectations and the ability to support, motivate and empathise with learners, including monitoring their progress, you will have good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills, with good attention to detail.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.

Closing date for the return of completed applications is 24th April 2026.

The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 40 days, plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees’ physical and mental health. This leave is all in addition to Bank Holiday entitlement. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme. The benefits package will be pro-rated for part time staff.
